Time is like a river, always moving forward. The waters of our human experience remain unchanged, even thousands of years downstream.
In my work, I search the past for moments when mankind faced similar moral and political challenges to those we face today. By telling the stories of children and teens who spoke up, took action, and brought change to their communities, I hope to inspire my readers to courage, no matter what they face.
My historical fantasy novels are geared toward young adult and middle grade readers. After spending a winter listening to folk tales in a tucked-away Armenian village, I became fascinated with the region's legends and have spent over a decade studying the ancient Near East. These days I live and write in Belgium with my Flemish husband and our four daughters.
